Growing Out of "Tracker": How GetTask Found Structure in Development with SimpleOne SDLC
updated at: 25 February 2026
Client: GetTask — an IT company that provides a cloud solution for managing flexible and contract workforce operations.
Vendor: SimpleOne — a business process automation platform.
Integrator: ITGLOBAL.COM — an international systems integrator and cloud provider.
Implementation timeline: 2 months
About the Company
GetTask provides a cloud-based IT solution for managing flexible and contract workforce operations. The product helps small and medium-sized businesses manage payments, automate the exchange of requests between clients and contractors, and organize document workflows.
Project Background
Before adopting SimpleOne SDLC, GetTask's development team relied on Yandex Tracker to manage tasks. As the company grew, though, the tool's limitations became clear:
Key challenges:
- Technical debt accumulated due to a lack of structured planning.
- Development processes lacked transparency — the team lost visibility into task and release status.
- A basic status model made it impossible to configure workflows that matched the team's actual processes.
- Releases and sprints weren't separated — everything blurred into a single structure.
- Limited grouping options made it hard to organize tasks by feature or epic.
- Siloed teamwork, without a shared information space.
"Yandex Tracker works fine while tasks stay simple. But once processes grow more complex, the whole structure falls apart — you end up with information chaos, and there's no way to navigate that sea of cards."Andrei Yakimenko Head of Service, GetTask
Choosing a Solution
When evaluating a new platform, the GetTask team looked for:
- A solution that met local compliance and data-protection requirements, to minimize regulatory risk.
- Advanced functionality to manage the full development lifecycle.
- Flexible process configuration with support for Scrum and Kanban.
- The ability to scale alongside a growing team.
- Integration with other systems used across the group of companies.
SimpleOne SDLC checked every box: the platform offers a comprehensive approach to managing development, covering every stage of the SDLC from analysis through release.
Project Goals
The GetTask team set out to:
- Bring order to development processes — creating a managed, transparent path for shipping changes to production.
- Separate releases from sprints — using distinct entities for different planning purposes.
- Introduce feature-based grouping — structuring work around major functional blocks.
- Minimize technical debt through strict processes and task traceability.
- Break down team silos by creating a shared information space.
Implementation Process
ITGLOBAL.COM, the integrator, managed the migration to SimpleOne SDLC on a tight timeline:
Stage 1: February 2025 — Kickoff and Rapid Migration
In the first stage, the team gained access to the SimpleOne SDLC platform, set up the basic project and product structure, created task templates, and configured boards. One notable aspect of the project was how quickly the switch happened — the team deliberately stopped using Yandex Tracker just a month into the rollout, moving fully over to SimpleOne SDLC.
Stage 2: March–December 2025 — Adaptation and Optimization
Over the following ten months, the development team focused on getting deeply familiar with the platform. Staff transitioned to the new processes and learned to work with the system's core entities — sprints, releases, features, and stories. At the same time, the team fine-tuned filters and reporting and optimized workflows to match how they worked. This period became a phase of active adaptation, as each team member found the most effective way to work in the new environment.
Stage 3: January 2026 — Process Stabilization
By early 2026, the whole team had fully mastered the platform. Stable planning and delivery processes had taken shape and become part of the regular workflow. During this period, the team also began actively using a Confluence knowledge base integrated into the broader ecosystem, which further improved transparency and collaboration.
"The steep learning curve of SimpleOne SDLC turned out to be a strength rather than a drawback — it forced us to genuinely understand our development processes. The system demands logical consistency, and that discipline rubbed off on the team."Andrei Yakimenko Head of Service, GetTask
Results
A year into using SimpleOne SDLC, the GetTask team took stock of the changes to its development process. The migration from Yandex Tracker solved the team's core problems: planning became structured, task status gained transparency, and technical debt stopped piling up unchecked.
1. Development Processes Became Manageable
The team gained a structured development process with clearly separated entities. Sprints now handle two-week iteration planning, while releases manage product versioning. Tasks are organized hierarchically through feature and epic groupings, making navigation and prioritization easier. The status model makes it possible to track exactly where a piece of code stands and which tasks need attention.
2. Technical Debt Under Control
The platform's strict requirements around process organization turned into a tool for improving work quality. The team developed a more systematic approach to planning, tasks stopped getting lost in the general flow, and dependencies between components are now tracked more consistently. The steep learning curve, which created friction early on, ultimately helped the team build more reliable processes.
3. Day-to-Day Work Got Easier
After the adaptation period, the development team noted several practical benefits:
- an intuitive interface — a modern UI that's relatively quick to learn;
- flexible filters — the ability to quickly find the tasks you need;
- stable performance — the system runs quickly at current data volumes;
- constructive feedback — direct support from the product owner.
"Right now, our process feels pretty simple. There are a handful of entities, they live where you'd expect, and the tables make sense. The filters work great — once you get used to them, everything becomes really convenient."Andrei Yakimenko Head of Service, GetTask
4. Breaking Down Silos
SimpleOne SDLC gave the development team a shared information space. Plans and priorities became far more visible, and everyone gained access to up-to-date information on task, sprint, and release status. The fragmentation that came with the previous tool has been eliminated.
Looking Ahead
The GetTask team views SimpleOne SDLC as a long-term investment in its development processes. One near-term priority is the rollout of a native knowledge base within SDLC, which will make it easier to manage project documentation and requirements. That will create a unified ecosystem where technical documentation, requirements, and the knowledge base are directly connected to development tasks.
In parallel, the team plans to fine-tune reporting and dashboards to fit its specific needs. As historical data builds up in the system, it will become possible to analyze team performance more precisely, forecast task timelines, and identify process bottlenecks.
As the development team grows, the experience gained with the platform will serve as a foundation for scaling its approach. Established processes and configured workflows can be rolled out to new projects and products, ensuring consistent standards across teams.
